Introduction to the tool and how to use it

An online number sequence pattern detector: type one sequence per line (comma or space separated, negatives and decimals supported) and it tells you whether the sequence is constant, arithmetic, geometric, a finite-difference polynomial, a linear recurrence or periodic, along with the reasoning, the general term and the next term.

Detection follows a fixed priority order - constant, arithmetic, geometric, common sequences, finite differences, linear recurrence, periodic - and reports only the single most reliable conclusion. The tolerance setting controls how loose the floating-point comparison is, and turning on "Show differences" appends the difference table to the reasoning column. Sequences with fewer than 3 terms cannot be judged and are reported as such.
