Introduction to the tool and how to use it
Set Operations Calculator - one set per line, and the union, intersection, difference, symmetric difference and complement come back all at once, with a Venn diagram count summary on top.
How to use:
1. Enter one set per line, separated by commas or spaces. Line 1 is A, line 2 is B and so on - at least 2 lines, at most 8, e.g.
2. Choose the universe: by default it is the union of every set; pick "Custom" and type your own universe (say 1 to 100) if you want a meaningful complement;
3. Hit Run to get all five operations with their element counts in the result table, plus a Venn count summary in the output box;
4. Copy the result or export it as CSV.
What the results mean:
- Union A u B: elements that appear in at least one set;
- Intersection A n B: elements that appear in every set;
- Difference A - B: elements in A that are in none of the other sets;
- Symmetric difference A ^ B: elements belonging to exactly one of the sets;
- Complement U \ (A u B): elements of the universe that belong to no input set;
- Venn count summary: how many elements fall into each region, i.e. exactly which sets they belong to.
How it differs from the Number Sets Overlap Checker on this site: that tool only compares the first line against each of the other lines and reports the overlap and what each side owns alone; this tool computes the full set algebra instead, all five operations at once plus the Venn counts. Duplicates inside a set are removed and elements are sorted in ascending numeric order; everything is handled as text, so integers longer than 20 digits stay exact.
